Check the cause
Verify software version with an AGCO dealer to see if the TRANS1 module requires an update (especially for Dyna 6 variants where this code indicates a software issue).
Inspect the wiring harness and connector at the rear PTO solenoid for corrosion, moisture, or loose pins.
Test the rear PTO ON/OFF switch in the cab and the external fender buttons to ensure they are sending the correct signals to the TRANS1 module.
Check the hydraulic fluid level and inspect the hydraulic filters for contamination, which can cause internal valve components to stick and burn out the solenoid coil.
Repair steps
Secure the tractor
Park the tractor on a level surface, turn off the engine, and engage the parking brake.
Relieve hydraulic pressure
Relieve all hydraulic pressure from the system to prevent fluid spray.
Disconnect battery
Disconnect the tractor's battery to prevent electrical shorts during the repair.
Locate solenoid valve
Locate the Rear PTO On/Off Solenoid Valve on the rear PTO/transmission housing.
Disconnect wiring harness
Carefully disconnect the electrical wiring harness from the solenoid, checking the connector for any signs of corrosion.
Remove faulty valve
Unbolt and remove the faulty solenoid valve.
Clean mounting surface
Thoroughly clean the mounting surface to ensure no dirt or contamination enters the hydraulic system.
Install new valve
Install the new solenoid valve and tighten the mounting hardware.
Reconnect electrical connector
Reconnect the electrical connector, ensuring the weather seal is intact.
Test and replace filter
Reconnect the battery, start the tractor, and test the PTO engagement. (Note: It is highly recommended to change the hydraulic filter during this repair if contamination caused the original valve to stick.)
