Massey Ferguson 06.03.02 – TRANS1: Issue With Signal From Right External Rear PTO On/Off Button Dyna VT (TRANS1)
Issue description
The transmission controller has detected an irregular, missing, or out-of-range signal coming from the external rear PTO start/stop button located on the right-hand rear fender. This button is designed to allow the operator to safely engage or disengage the PTO from outside the cab. The fault indicates a likely open circuit, short circuit, or internal failure of the momentary push-button switch itself.

Check the cause
Inspect the right external rear PTO switch on the rear fender for physical damage, water ingress, or heavy dirt/corrosion.
Disconnect the switch and inspect the 3-pin electrical connector for corrosion or bent pins.
Check the wiring harness running from the fender to the TRANS1 module for chafing, breaks, or shorts to ground.
Use a multimeter to test the momentary switch for continuity (should be open circuit at rest, continuity when depressed).
Look for accompanying codes such as T6101 or 06.02.01 to isolate if the issue is localized to the switch or a broader CAN BUS/power supply issue.
Repair steps
Power Down
Turn off the tractor, remove the key, and disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical spikes.
Access the Switch
Locate the faulty external PTO switch on the right rear fender.
Removal
Reach behind the fender panel to depress the retaining clips or remove the mounting bezel (depending on the exact fender trim). Disconnect the wiring harness connector from the back of the switch.
Installation
Plug the wiring harness into the new replacement switch. Push the new switch firmly into the fender mounting hole until it clicks securely into place.
Reassembly & Testing
Reconnect the battery. Turn the ignition on and use the tractor's diagnostic menu or a diagnostic tool to clear the 06.03.02 DTC.
Verification
Start the tractor, set the engine RPM to the memorized activation speed, and test the right external PTO button to ensure the PTO engages and disengages correctly.
