Massey Ferguson 06.03.07 – TRANS1: Issue With Rear PTO On/Off Solenoid Power Supply Dyna 6 (TRANS1)

The system has detected an electrical fault in the power supply circuit for the Rear PTO On/Off Solenoid. This typically indicates an open circuit, a short circuit to ground, a short circuit to power (+12V) in the wiring harness, or a failure of the solenoid coil itself.

   Visual Inspection: Locate the Rear PTO On/Off Solenoid on the rear axle/transmission housing. Inspect the electrical connector for corrosion, moisture, pushed-out pins, or damaged wires.

   Wiring Harness Continuity: Disconnect the harness at the solenoid and at the TRANS1 module. Use a multimeter to check for continuity on the power supply wire.

   Short Circuit Check: Test the power supply wire for a short to ground or a short to another power source.

   Solenoid Resistance Test: Measure the resistance across the pins of the PTO solenoid coil. An infinite reading indicates an open circuit (blown coil), while a reading of zero or near-zero indicates a dead short.

   Voltage Test: Reconnect the TRANS1 module, turn the key ON, and command the PTO switch ON. Verify that the module is sending the correct voltage to the solenoid connector.

   Preparation

   Park the tractor on a level surface, lower all implements to the ground, turn off the engine, and remove the ignition key.

   Access the Solenoid

   Locate the PTO control valve block on the rear transmission housing. Clean the area around the valve to prevent dirt from entering the hydraulic system.

   Disconnect

   Unplug the electrical connector from the Rear PTO On/Off Solenoid.

   Removal

   Depending on the exact valve block design, either remove the retaining nut at the end of the stem to slide the electromagnetic coil off, or unscrew the entire solenoid cartridge valve from the housing block.

   Installation

   Lubricate the O-rings on the new solenoid valve with clean hydraulic oil. Thread the new valve into the housing and tighten to the OEM torque specification, or slide the new coil onto the existing stem and secure the retaining nut.

   Reassembly

   Reconnect the electrical harness. Ensure the connector clicks into place securely.

   Testing

   Clear the 06.03.07 fault code using a diagnostic tool. Start the tractor and engage the rear PTO switch to confirm the PTO engages smoothly and the code does not return.
