Massey Ferguson 06.03.41 – TRANS1: Rear PTO Switch Signal Issue Dyna VT
Issue description
The system is detecting an irregular, missing, or implausible electrical signal from the rear Power Take-Off (PTO) engagement switch. This typically means the switch is failing to hold its position, has worn internal contacts, or there is a break/short in the wiring harness connecting the switch to the controller.

Check the cause
Inspect the rear PTO switch in the cab for physical damage, sticking, or failure to click/hold position.
Trace the wiring from the back of the PTO switch to the TRANS1 module. Look for chafed wires, loose connections, or corrosion at the connector pins.
Use a multimeter to test the switch's internal contacts. Verify if the switch is sending the correct voltage signal when toggled.
If a loose connection is found and repaired, clear the DTCs using a specialized diagnostic tool to see if code 06.03.41 returns.
Repair steps
Power Down
Turn off the tractor and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts.
Access the Switch
Carefully pry or unscrew the trim panel on the right-hand armrest or side console where the PTO switch is mounted.
Disconnect
Unplug the wiring harness connector from the back of the faulty PTO switch.
Remove
Push the retaining tabs on the sides of the switch to pop it out of the mounting bezel.
Install New Switch
Snap the new OEM replacement switch into the console panel.
Reconnect
Plug the wiring harness into the new switch (it is a direct plug-and-play replacement).
Test
Reconnect the battery, turn the key on, and test the PTO engagement to ensure the fault code is cleared and the PTO engages smoothly.
