Massey Ferguson 06.03.B0 – TRANS1: Issue With Message On The CAN BUS From PTO Switch DYNA VT (TRANS1)

Communication failure on the tractor's Controller Area Network (CAN bus). Specifically, the transmission controller is not receiving the expected electronic signal or message from the Power Take-Off (PTO) engagement switch.

   Use AGCO EDT or Tech Connect Diagnostics to scan for related codes (e.g., 06.03.B5, 06.03.B6) which might indicate a broader harness failure rather than a single switch failure.

   Check the main power fuses and the specific fuses powering the armrest/console controls.

   Inspect the PTO switch on the console for physical damage, sticking, or liquid intrusion.

   Inspect the wiring harness connecting the PTO switch to the CAN bus network for chafed wires, pinched harnesses, or corrosion at the connectors.

   Use a multimeter to verify that the switch is receiving proper voltage and that there is continuity on the CAN bus lines leading back to the TRANS1 module.

   Power Down

   Turn off the tractor and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts during repair.

   Access the Switch

   Carefully remove the trim panels on the armrest or side console to access the underside of the PTO switch assembly.

   Disconnect and Inspect

   Unplug the electrical connector from the PTO switch. Inspect the pins on both the switch and the harness side for pushed-out pins or green corrosion.

   Replace or Repair

   If the wiring is damaged, repair the broken CAN lines or replace the damaged connector pigtail. If the wiring tests good but the switch is failing to send the CAN message, remove the retaining clips/screws holding the PTO switch and install a new OEM switch.

   Reassembly

   Reconnect the wiring harness and snap the console trim panels back into place.

   Clear Codes and Calibrate

   Reconnect the battery. Connect the AGCO EDT diagnostic software to the tractor's diagnostic port (usually a 16-pin or 9-pin connector located near the power strip). Clear the 06.03.B0 fault code from the TRANS1 module.

   Start the tractor and engage the PTO to verify that the TRANS1 module now recognizes the switch state and the PTO engages smoothly without throwing a code.
