Massey Ferguson 06.03.B9 – TRANS1: Issue With CAN BUS From PTO 1000 ECO Button Dyna VT (TRANS1)

The system is detecting a communication failure on the Controller Area Network (CAN) bus specifically related to the signal from the PTO 1000 ECO selection button. The controller is either receiving an implausible signal, a corrupted message, or no message at all when the button is pressed or monitored.

   Visually inspect the PTO 1000 ECO button on the right-hand console/armrest for physical damage, sticking, or liquid ingress.

   Disconnect the PTO switch and inspect the connector pins for corrosion, bent pins, or moisture.

   Test the CAN High and CAN Low lines between the PTO switch panel and the TRANS1 module for continuity, shorts to ground, or shorts to power.

   Use the AGCO Electronic Diagnostic Tool (EDT) or FenDias to monitor the CAN bus. Verify if the TRANS1 module is registering the button press and check for other CAN bus codes that might indicate a broader network short.

   Power Down

   Turn off the tractor and disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shorts while working on the CAN network.

   Access the Switch

   Carefully pry up or unscrew the PTO control bezel on the right-hand armrest/console to access the underside of the switches.

   Disconnect & Remove

   Unplug the electrical harness from the PTO 1000 ECO switch. Depress the retaining tabs on the sides of the switch body to push it out of the mounting panel.

   Harness Repair (If Applicable)

   If the diagnostic checks revealed chafed or broken CAN wires, repair the harness using proper sealed connectors and heat shrink to protect against moisture.

   Install New Switch

   If the wiring is sound and the switch is deemed faulty, snap the new OEM PTO switch into the console panel and reconnect the harness.

   Reassemble & Power Up

   Reinstall the console bezel and reconnect the battery.

   Clear Codes & Test

   Connect the AGCO EDT diagnostic tool, clear the 06.03.B9 fault code, and start the tractor. Engage the PTO 1000 ECO mode to verify the signal is received by the TRANS1 module and the code does not return.
