   Verify battery condition and cranking voltage, as low system voltage under load can trigger false solenoid voltage codes

   Inspect the wiring harness from the TRANS1 controller to the PTO solenoid for chafed wires, vibration damage, or melted insulation

   Disconnect the plug at the PTO solenoid and inspect the pins for green copper corrosion, moisture ingress, or loose pin tension

   With the key ON and the PTO switch activated, use a digital multimeter to verify that 12V is reaching the solenoid connector

   Test the solenoid coil resistance with a multimeter, or apply 12V directly to the coil to check for magnetic pull

   Park the tractor on a level surface, turn off the engine, and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts.

   Relieve Pressure

   Relieve any residual hydraulic system pressure before opening the transmission hydraulic circuit.

   Locate the Valve

   Locate the PTO standard speed solenoid valve on the transmission housing, where the hydraulic lines connect to the PTO clutch system.

   Removal

   Disconnect the electrical connector. Unbolt and remove the faulty solenoid valve from the transmission block.

   Clean and Inspect

   Clean the mounting surface thoroughly. Inspect the hydraulic fluid; if the fluid is dirty or low, it can cause premature solenoid failure. Change the hydraulic filter if contamination is suspected.

   Installation

   Install the new OEM solenoid valve and torque to factory specifications. Reconnect the electrical harness.

   Reassembly and Clearing Codes

   Reconnect the battery. Top off hydraulic fluid if any was lost. Finally, use a specialized diagnostic tool to clear the 06.X.1A DTC from the TRANS1 module, as clearing it without fixing the root cause will just cause it to return.
