Massey Ferguson 06.X.B0 – TRANS1: Issue With Message On The CAN BUS From PTO Switch DYNA VT (TRANS1)

Communication failure on the tractor's Controller Area Network (CAN bus). The transmission controller is expecting a continuous broadcast message from the PTO engagement switch regarding its position/status, but the message is missing, corrupted, or out of range. This typically points to a failed smart switch, a wiring issue on the CAN network, or a disconnected harness.

   Check for accompanying codes using the AGCO EDT or dash display to rule out a damaged CAN backbone wire or terminating resistor

   Inspect the PTO switch physically for damage, sticking, or liquid intrusion

   Remove the console trim and inspect the electrical connector at the back of the PTO switch for backed-out pins, corrosion, or chafed wires

   Test the CAN bus circuit using a multimeter to verify proper voltage, ground, continuity to the TRANS1 module, and network termination resistance (typically 60 ohms)

   Disconnect Power

   Turn off the ignition and disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent electrical shorts and module damage.

   Access the Switch

   Carefully pry up or unscrew the trim panel on the right-hand armrest or side console where the PTO switch is mounted.

   Remove the Faulty Switch

   Disconnect the CAN/power wiring harness from the back of the PTO switch. Depress the retaining tabs on the sides of the switch body and push it up through the console bezel.

   Install the New Switch

   Snap the new OEM PTO switch into the console bezel.

   Reconnect Wiring

   Plug the wiring harness into the new switch, ensuring the connector clicks securely into place.

   Reassemble

   Reinstall the console trim panel.

   Restore Power and Clear Codes

   Reconnect the battery. Turn the ignition on. Connect the AGCO EDT diagnostic tool to the tractor's diagnostic port and clear the stored 06.02.B0 / 06.X.B0 fault code from the TRANS1 module.

   Test Operation

   Start the tractor and engage the PTO to verify the switch operates correctly and the fault code does not return.
