Massey Ferguson 06.X.E7 – TRANS1: Issue With Rear PTO On/Off Solenoid Power Supply Dyna VT (TRANS1)

The system has detected an electrical fault (such as a short, open circuit, or voltage drop) in the power supply circuit to the rear PTO engagement solenoid, or there is a known software glitch within the transmission controller falsely flagging the circuit.

   Verify if the TRANS1 module requires an OEM software update via the Massey Ferguson diagnostic interface (Wintest/EST) to rule out a false code.

   Inspect the wiring harness between the TRANS1 module and the Rear PTO On/Off Solenoid for chafed wires, corrosion in the connector pins, or a short to ground.

   Test the voltage at the solenoid connector when the PTO is commanded on.

   Check the resistance of the PTO solenoid coil itself; an internally shorted coil will draw excessive current and trigger a power supply fault.

   Update Software

   If a service bulletin applies to your specific model year regarding the TRANS1 software, flash the module to the latest version to rule out a false code.

   Repair Wiring

   If physical damage is found in the harness during diagnostics, repair the broken/shorted wires and replace damaged connector pigtails.

   Replace the PTO Solenoid

   If the solenoid coil fails the resistance test or is internally shorted: Locate the PTO solenoid control valve block on the transmission housing. Thoroughly clean the area around the valve to prevent debris from entering the hydraulic system. Disconnect the electrical connector from the solenoid. Remove the retaining nut/fastener and slide the faulty solenoid coil off the valve stem (or unthread the entire cartridge valve, depending on the exact valve block revision). Install the new OEM solenoid valve, ensuring O-rings are lubricated if replacing the cartridge. Reconnect the electrical harness. Clear the 06.X.E7 fault code using a diagnostic tool and test the rear PTO engagement.
