Check the cause

  1. Inspect the rocker switch on the side console/armrest for physical wear, sticking, or debris preventing full contact.

  2. Use a multimeter to verify voltage at the switch terminals and check for continuity when the switch is toggled up and down.

  3. Trace the wiring harness from the switch to the HITCH module under the seat. Look for pinched wires, shorts, or corrosion at the connector pins.

  4. Manually push the override buttons on the rear hydraulic valve block solenoids to rule out a mechanical or hydraulic failure. If the hitch raises and lowers manually, the issue is isolated to the switch, wiring, or the HITCH module itself.

Repair steps

  1. Turn off the tractor ignition and disconnect the battery

    to prevent electrical shorts.

  2. Carefully pry up or unscrew the side console/armrest panel

to access the underside of the hitch control switches.

  3. Mark and disconnect the electrical wiring harness connector

from the faulty raise/lower rocker switch.

  4. Squeeze the retaining clips on the sides of the old switch

and push it up and out of the console panel.

  5. Snap the new OEM rocker switch

    into the panel.

  6. Reconnect the electrical connector

ensuring it is fully seated and secure.

  7. Reinstall the console panel

  8. Reconnect the battery and turn on the ignition

Clear the stored error codes from the diagnostic display.

  9. Cycle the rear hitch up and down several times

to verify proper operation and ensure the system is communicating correctly.
