Massey Ferguson 08.01.50 – HITCH module: Issue With Signal From Rear Hitch Right Draft Pin
Issue description
The rear draft pins are electronic load-sensing pins (strain gauges) that connect the lower link arms of the three-point hitch to the tractor chassis. They measure the draft force (pulling resistance) exerted by ground-engaging implements. This code indicates that the signal voltage coming from the right-side draft pin is missing, out of range, or erratic, which prevents the electronic draft control system from accurately adjusting implement depth.

Check the cause
Inspect the wiring harness and the pigtail connector leading to the right draft pin for damaged wires, chafing, or moisture ingress.
Test the wiring harness for continuity back to the HITCH module using a multimeter.
Test the resistance across the pins of the draft sensor itself to check for an internal open or short circuit.
Temporarily swap the left and right draft pin electrical connections. If the fault code shifts to the left pin (e.g., 08.01.51), the sensor is defective. If it remains on the right side, the wiring harness or HITCH module is at fault.
Repair steps
Lower the rear three-point hitch completely to the ground to remove all mechanical load and tension from the lower link arms.
Disconnect the electrical pigtail connector from the defective right draft pin.
Remove the retaining hardware (usually a locking bolt or snap ring) securing the draft pin to the tractor's hitch bracket.
Slide the old draft pin out of the lower link arm pivot.
Note: You may need to clean out dirt/debris or use penetrating oil if the pin is seized.
Clean the bore thoroughly and apply a light coat of anti-seize or grease to prevent future binding.
Insert the new load sensing pin, ensuring the alignment notch/flat is positioned correctly, and secure it with the retaining hardware.
Reconnect the electrical connector and secure the cable away from moving parts.
Turn on the tractor and perform a rear hitch calibration procedure via the tractor's diagnostic terminal or dashboard sequence.
This is required so the HITCH module can learn the new sensor's specific "zero load" baseline voltage.
