Massey Ferguson 08.01.51 – HITCH module: Issue With Signal From Rear Hitch Left Draft Pin
Issue description
The tractor's Electronic Linkage Control (ELC) system is receiving an erratic, missing, or out-of-range electrical signal from the load-sensing draft pin located on the left lower link of the rear three-point hitch. When this fault is triggered, the system typically enters a "degraded" mode, relying solely on the right draft pin sensor to continue operating the hitch in draft mode.

Check the cause
Inspect the wire harness leading to the left rear draft pin sensor for damaged wires, chafing, or breaks.
Inspect the 3-pin connector at the sensor and the corresponding pins at the HITCH module for corrosion, moisture ingress, or bent pins.
Use a compatible diagnostic tool to clear the code and see if it returns immediately upon moving the hitch or applying a load, which confirms a hard fault in the sensor or wiring.
Repair steps
Park the tractor on a level surface, lower the rear hitch completely to remove all load from the lower link arms, and turn off the engine.
Disconnect the 3-pin wiring harness plug from the left lower link draft pin sensor.
Remove the retaining hardware (usually a locking bolt, retaining plate, or snap ring) that secures the draft pin to the tractor chassis/lower link mount.
Support the left lower link arm and carefully slide/tap out the faulty draft pin sensor.
Clean the mounting bore to ensure it is free of debris and rust.
Insert the new draft pin sensor, ensuring the alignment notch/flat matches the retaining hardware orientation.
Reinstall the retaining hardware and torque to OEM specifications.
Reconnect the 3-pin wiring harness.
Turn on the tractor, clear the 08.01.51 fault code using a diagnostic tool, and perform a functional test of the hitch draft control.
