08.01.A0

Massey Ferguson 08.01.A0 – Rear Hitch Module (HITCH): Rear Hitch Module Internal Issue, Lost Calibration (HITCH)

Issue description

The controller managing the rear 3-point linkage has either suffered an internal electronic fault or has lost its positional calibration memory.

Check the cause

  1. Check supply voltage from the battery and alternator to ensure proper voltage to the hitch module

  2. Inspect the wiring harness and connections leading to the Rear Hitch Module for damaged wires, loose pins, or corrosion

  3. Attempt to clear the code using a compatible diagnostic interface (like AGCO EDT) to see if it is a hard fault

  4. Attempt a factory hitch recalibration, as the code specifically flags 'Lost Calibration'

Repair steps

  1. Park and Prep

Park the tractor on a flat, level surface. Remove any heavy implements from the rear 3-point hitch to ensure it can move freely through its full range of motion without binding.

  2. Recalibrate the Hitch

Using the tractor's dashboard interface or the AGCO EDT software, initiate the rear hitch calibration procedure. This usually involves following on-screen prompts to raise and lower the linkage to its maximum and minimum limits so the module can relearn the spool position sensor values.

  3. Test Operation

Once calibration is complete, cycle the tractor's key off and back on. Test the raise/lower rocker switches to ensure the hitch responds smoothly.

  4. Module Replacement (If Calibration Fails)

If the module refuses to accept the calibration, or if the 08.01.A0 code persists, the internal circuitry of the Rear Hitch Module has failed.

  5. Disconnect battery

    Disconnect the tractor's battery.

  6. Remove faulty module

Locate and remove the faulty Rear Hitch Module.

  7. Install new module

Install the new OEM module and reconnect the battery.

  8. Final Calibration

A newly installed module will be blank and will immediately require a full hitch calibration using the AGCO EDT before it will operate the linkage.
