Massey Ferguson 08.01.A1 – Rear Hitch Module (HITCH): Rear Hitch Module Internal Issue (HITCH) / Lost Calibration
Issue description
The module has lost its stored parameters for the rear linkage's high/low stops and sensor baselines, or it has suffered an internal memory/hardware failure that prevents it from retaining these values.

Check the cause
Attempt a standard rear hitch calibration to see if the module can retain the parameters before assuming it is permanently dead.
Verify the wiring harness connections to the Rear Hitch Module, ensuring steady 12V power and a clean ground, as voltage drops can cause memory loss.
Ensure the rear linkage position sensors are physically intact, properly oriented, and have the correct gap to prevent the module from rejecting calibration.
Repair steps
Calibrate the Rear Linkage
Enter the tractor's calibration mode. Follow the specific procedure for your model to define the high and low stops. This usually involves setting the draft/position potentiometers to specific values and actuating the raise/lower rocker switch to lock in the parameters.
Evaluate Calibration Results
Cycle the tractor's key power. If the hitch operates normally and the 08.01.A1 code clears, the issue was simply a lost calibration.
Replace the Module (If Calibration Fails)
If the module refuses to accept the calibration, or if the code returns immediately after a power cycle, the internal memory/processor has failed.
Install New Module
Disconnect the tractor's battery. Locate the Rear Hitch Module, disconnect the harness, and swap in the replacement unit.
Final Calibration
A brand-new module will be blank. You must perform a full rear hitch calibration procedure on the new module before the tractor will operate the linkage.
