Check the cause
Visually inspect the rear hitch raise/lower rocker switch on the cab console for physical damage, heavy dust intrusion, or moisture
Access the back of the switch and inspect the wiring harness connector for loose, corroded, or damaged pins
Verify the voltage and continuity of the circuit between the switch and the HITCH module to ensure the wiring harness has not been pinched or compromised
Repair steps
Ensure the tractor is turned off and the hydraulic system is completely shut down and depressurized.
Access the switch panel on the cab console.
Carefully remove the faulty rocker switch from the panel.
Most are direct drop-in/snap-in designs.
Disconnect the wiring harness from the back of the old switch.
Plug the existing wiring harness directly into the new OEM replacement switch.
No modifications are required.
Snap the new switch back into the console panel.
Power on the tractor and test the up/down function of the 3-point hitch to ensure proper operation.
Verify that the 08.02.18 code has cleared.
