Issue description
The controller is detecting that the signal voltage from the rear hitch position sensor (a potentiometer that monitors the angle/height of the rear rockshaft) is outside of the expected normal operating range. This typically indicates an open circuit, a short to ground, a short to power, or a failed potentiometer. When this code is active, the 3-point hitch may become inoperable, jump erratically, or fail to calibrate.

Check the cause

Inspect the wiring harness: Locate the rear hitch position sensor on the rear rockshaft. Inspect the 3-pin connector and wiring harness running back to the HITCH controller for rubbed, pinched, or broken wires, and terminal corrosion. Clean terminals with contact cleaner if necessary.
Test sensor voltage: Using a multimeter, verify that the sensor is receiving the correct reference voltage (typically 5V) and has a solid ground.
Check signal sweep: Back-probe the signal wire and manually move the hitch linkage (if safely possible). The voltage should change smoothly without dropouts or dead spots. Erratic voltage jumps indicate a worn-out internal potentiometer.
Attempt calibration: Try to run the hitch calibration procedure. If the hitch position jumps or the system refuses to calibrate, the sensor is likely at fault.
Repair steps
Turn off the tractor, remove the key, and disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent electrical shorts.
Locate the rear hitch position sensor assembly on the rear lift arm/rockshaft housing.
Disconnect the 3-pin wiring harness connector from the sensor.
Remove the mounting hardware (usually small bolts or screws) securing the sensor and its connecting linkage rod to the tractor housing.
Remove the old sensor.
Install the new sensor, ensuring the linkage rod is properly aligned with the rockshaft movement. Secure the mounting hardware.
Reconnect the 3-pin wiring harness connector.
Reconnect the battery.
Perform the Electrohydraulic Hitch calibration procedure via the tractor's dashboard or diagnostic tool so the HITCH controller can learn the new sensor's minimum and maximum voltage limits.
