Massey Ferguson 08.03.32 – HITCH: Issue With Signal From Rear Hitch Left Draft Pin
Issue description
The controller is receiving an erratic, out-of-range, or completely missing electrical signal from the left-side draft pin sensor. When this sensor fails, the hitch system will typically enter a degraded mode, relying solely on the right draft pin sensor to maintain draft control operation.

Check the cause
Inspect the wiring harness leading to the left lower link draft pin sensor for chafing, breaks, or pinched wires
Disconnect the left draft pin sensor and check the connector for moisture, corrosion, or bent pins
Test the wire harness for continuity and shorts between the sensor connector and the HITCH controller
Check if the right draft pin is functioning properly, as the system will use the right pin to operate in draft mode while the left is disabled
Repair steps
Safely park the tractor and lower implement.
Safely park the tractor on level ground. Lower any attached implement fully to the ground to relieve all tension and weight from the rear hitch lower link arms. Turn off the engine.
Locate the left draft pin sensor.
Locate the left draft pin sensor at the tractor-end pivot point of the left lower link arm.
Disconnect the electrical connector.
Disconnect the 3-pin electrical connector from the sensor.
Repair wiring or replace sensor.
If the diagnostic checks revealed damaged wiring, repair or replace the affected harness section. If the wiring is intact, the sensor itself has failed internally and must be replaced.
Remove the retaining hardware.
Remove the retaining hardware (usually a locking bolt, retaining plate, or pin) that secures the draft pin in the bracket.
Remove the faulty draft pin sensor.
Slide the faulty draft pin sensor out of the bore. (You may need to gently support or tap the lower link arm to relieve binding).
Clean the mounting bore.
Clean the mounting bore thoroughly to ensure the new pin will seat correctly.
Install the new draft pin sensor.
Install the new draft pin sensor. Important: Ensure the alignment notch or flat edge on the pin is positioned correctly according to the bracket; load-sensing pins are directional and must be oriented properly to measure the draft force accurately.
Reinstall the retaining hardware.
Reinstall the retaining hardware and torque to spec.
Reconnect the electrical connector.
Reconnect the electrical connector.
Test the repair.
Start the tractor, clear the fault codes from the HITCH module, and test the draft control operation with an implement to confirm the repair.
