Massey Ferguson 08.03.A1 – HITCH: Rear Hitch Module Internal Issue (HITCH)

Issue description

Check the cause

  1. Check the wiring harness and connectors leading to the EHR module for voltage drops or poor grounds

  2. Ensure the module is receiving steady battery voltage

  3. Check if the module has simply lost calibration (related to code 08.0.B6)

  4. Use a compatible Massey Ferguson diagnostic tool to clear the DTCs and cycle the key to see if the code returns immediately

Repair steps

  1. Attempt EHR Calibration

Connect the tractor to a compatible diagnostic interface and initiate the EHR (Electronic Hitch Control) calibration procedure. Follow the on-screen prompts to reset the upper limit, drop speed, and draft pin parameters.

  2. Module Removal

If calibration fails or the diagnostic tool cannot communicate with the HITCH module, the module itself has suffered an internal board failure. Locate the Rear Hitch Module (usually located under the right-hand console or behind the cab trim). Disconnect the battery, then unplug the multi-pin connectors from the module.

  3. Repair or Replace

Install a brand-new OEM replacement module or send the defective unit to an agricultural electronics specialist (such as Ilgenfritz Mechatronics or ECU Repair Centre) for board-level repair.

  4. Reinstallation and Calibration

Install the new or repaired module. You must perform a full hitch calibration procedure using the dealer diagnostic tool before the rear linkage will operate, as a replacement EHR module will be blank or uncalibrated.

Parts you might need

(1)
  • Rear Hitch Module / EHR Control Module
