Massey Ferguson 08.X.B4 – Rear Hitch Module (HITCH): Rear Hitch Module Calibration Issue (HITCH)
Issue description
The controller has lost its calibration parameters for the rear three-point hitch, or the calibration procedure was interrupted, failed, or resulted in values outside of the acceptable range.

Check the cause
Ensure the rear hitch linkage has free movement and is not physically binding or obstructed.
Check the wiring harness and connectors going to the rear hitch position sensors and draft pins for corrosion, moisture, or damage.
Verify that the position sensors are receiving proper reference voltage and returning a smooth, linear signal voltage as the hitch moves. Jumpy or erratic voltage will cause calibration to fail.
Ensure the tractor has adequate battery voltage, as low voltage during operation or cranking can cause the module to lose its memory/calibration.
Repair steps
Clear the Code
Attempt to clear the DTC using a compatible diagnostic tool.
Perform Hitch Calibration
Initiate the rear hitch calibration procedure via the tractor's dash display or diagnostic tool (procedure varies slightly by series, e.g., Dyna-4/Dyna-6 vs. Dyna-VT). Follow the on-screen prompts to raise and lower the hitch to its maximum and minimum limits so the module can relearn the sensor parameters.
Test Operation
If calibration is successful, cycle the hitch several times to ensure the code does not return.
Component Replacement
If the hitch will not calibrate (e.g., the position jumps erratically or the module rejects the calibration), the rotary position sensor or lift position sensor is likely faulty and must be replaced.
Recalibrate
After replacing any sensor or the Rear Hitch Module itself, you must perform the calibration procedure again.
