   Scan for related codes using a compatible diagnostic tool to check for broader communication failures between the dash and the valve module

   Inspect the wiring harness and connector specifically at External Hydraulic Valve 1 for connection problems

   Verify spool position sensor values via the diagnostic interface to see if the sensor is reading out of range or failing to register movement

   Inspect and Clean

   Disconnect the electrical connector at External Hydraulic Valve 1. Clean the contacts and inspect for corrosion, moisture, or pushed-out pins. Reconnect and clear the code to see if it returns.

   Test Voltage/Continuity

   Test the wiring from the valve module to the spool valve to ensure there are no breaks or shorts in the harness.

   Component Replacement

   If the wiring is sound but the valve fails to operate or reports incorrect position data, the electric spool slice (or its pilot pressure control) is likely faulty and must be replaced. Alternatively, if it is a mechanical leak/failure, a repair kit can be used to rebuild the valve.
