Massey Ferguson 0A.10.27 – A100 MFA or A050 basic control unit ECU: External Hydraulic Valve 1 Issue
Issue description
Indicates that the tractor's onboard diagnostic system has detected a malfunction, electrical fault (such as an open circuit or short), or mechanical failure associated with the first external hydraulic remote valve (spool valve).

Check the cause
Check the dashboard control unit and clear the error code, as the system often blocks all valves for safety when a hydraulic error occurs.
Inspect the electrical harness and connectors leading to External Hydraulic Valve 1 for open circuits, shorts to ground, shorts to power, or harness rub points.
Test the solenoid coil resistance with a multimeter to ensure it is not shorted or open.
Verify the hydraulic pressure at the remote to ensure the system is receiving adequate pressure and that the issue is not a failing hydraulic pump.
Check for mechanical binding to verify if the valve spool is mechanically stuck. Manually moving the control lever back and forth can sometimes unstick a jammed valve.
Repair steps
Turn off the tractor, lower all implements to the ground, and relieve all hydraulic system pressure.
Locate External Hydraulic Valve 1 in the rear remote valve stack.
Disconnect the electrical harness connector from the valve's solenoid.
Clean the contacts and repair any damaged wiring.
If the wiring is intact but the solenoid failed the resistance test, unbolt and replace the solenoid coil.
If the mechanical valve itself is faulty (stuck or leaking internally), disconnect and cap the hydraulic lines attached to Valve 1 to prevent contamination.
Unbolt the External Hydraulic Valve 1 assembly from the main distributor block.
Install the replacement valve or rebuilt valve assembly, ensuring all O-rings and seals are properly seated.
Reconnect the hydraulic lines and the electrical harness.
Turn on the tractor, clear the 0A.10.27 error code from the dashboard control unit, and unlock the hydraulic valves.
Test the hydraulic remote with an implement to confirm proper operation and check for leaks.
Parts you might need
(1)External Hydraulic Valve 1 (Rear Remote Spool Valve / Solenoid Valve)
When ordering a replacement, you must specify whether your tractor is equipped with an open-center or closed-center load sensing (CCLS) hydraulic system, and ensure it matches the specific Tier 4 5700SL or 7700S series valve stack.
