0A.11.11

Massey Ferguson 0A.11.11 – Mid Mount Valve Module or Autotronic Control Unit: External Hydraulic Valve 1 Issue

Issue description

Malfunction in the first external hydraulic remote valve circuit. Typically an electrical fault, such as a connection problem, a short circuit (to +12V or Ground), or an issue with the spool position sensor value.

Check the cause

  1. Inspect the wiring harness leading to the rear external hydraulic valve block (specifically Valve 1) for chafed wires, pinched harnesses, or physical damage.

  2. Disconnect the electrical plug at Valve 1 and check for water ingress, corrosion, or bent pins.

  3. Use a multimeter to check for a short circuit to +12V or a short circuit to 0V (Ground) at the valve connector.

  4. If your diagnostic tool allows for live data monitoring, check the 'Spool Position Sensor Value' for Valve 1 to see if it is reading out of range or stuck.

Repair steps

  1. Preparation

Park the tractor on a level surface, lower all hydraulic implements to relieve system pressure, turn off the engine, and disconnect the battery.

  2. Locate the Valve

Identify External Hydraulic Valve 1 on the rear remote valve stack.

  3. Clean the Area

Thoroughly clean the area around the valve to prevent dirt from entering the hydraulic system during removal.

  4. Disconnect

Unplug the electrical connector from the valve's solenoid/spool sensor.

  5. Removal

Remove the retaining bolts holding the Valve 1 solenoid/spool assembly to the main valve block. Carefully extract the valve, being prepared to catch a small amount of residual hydraulic fluid.

  6. Installation

Lubricate the O-rings on the new valve assembly with clean hydraulic oil. Insert the new valve and torque the retaining bolts to the manufacturer's specifications.

  7. Reassembly

Reconnect the electrical harness to the new valve.

  8. Calibration

Reconnect the battery. Connect a compatible Massey Ferguson diagnostic tool, clear the 0A.11.11 fault code, and run the hydraulic valve calibration procedure to ensure the Autotronic module learns the new spool position sensor limits.

Parts you might need

(1)
  • External Hydraulic Valve 1 Assembly / Spool Valve Solenoid

Ensure you are purchasing the valve configured for 'Valve 1' (often the primary remote), as spool configurations and sensor calibrations can occasionally differ between the primary and secondary remotes on the stack.
