Massey Ferguson 0A.11.24 – Remote Hydraulic Controller: External Hydraulic Valve 1 Issue
Issue description
Malfunction in the first remote/auxiliary hydraulic spool valve circuit. The underlying condition is typically an electrical circuit problem (such as an open circuit, short to ground, or short to power at the solenoid), a sensor signal issue, or a mechanical/hydraulic restriction (such as a stuck valve or blocked flow) preventing the valve from operating correctly.

Check the cause
Inspect the solenoid connector on Valve 1, look for harness rub points, check the coil resistance, and verify ground integrity.
Check for dirty or contaminated hydraulic oil and inspect the hydraulic and transmission filters, as restricted oil flow can trigger valve performance faults.
Inspect the remote hydraulic couplers for damage or blockages that could be deadheading the system.
Determine if the spool valve is physically sticking or if there is a diverter issue preventing oil supply.
Repair steps
Depressurize the System
Ensure the tractor is off and relieve all hydraulic pressure from the remote valves before beginning work.
Disconnect Electricals
Unplug the wiring harness connector from the External Hydraulic Valve 1 solenoid.
Clean the Area
Thoroughly clean the exterior of the valve bank to prevent dirt from entering the hydraulic system during removal.
Remove the Valve
Unbolt and remove the affected spool valve assembly from the hydraulic block.
Inspect / Rebuild
If rebuilding, disassemble the valve, clean the internal components, and replace the O-rings using an OEM repair kit. If the solenoid coil or internal spool is heavily worn or shorted, the entire valve assembly must be replaced.
Reinstall
Install the new or rebuilt spool valve, torque to OEM specifications, and reconnect the electrical harness.
Test
Top up the hydraulic/transmission fluid, clear the DTC using a compatible diagnostic tool (like Jaltest or AGCO diagnostic software), and test the remote hydraulics with an implement to ensure proper flow and pressure.
