   Diagnostic Scan: Connect a compatible Massey Ferguson diagnostic tool to the tractor's diagnostic port to read the active codes and attempt to clear them.

   Wiring and Connections: Check for connection problems on the hydraulic valve.

   Spool Position Sensor Check: Verify the readings of the spool position sensor.

   Valve Calibration: Check if the valve has lost its calibration parameters.

   Locate External Hydraulic Valve 1

   Usually the first slice in the rear remote valve stack or mid-mount valve block.

   Inspect the electrical connector and wiring harness

   Check the wiring going to the valve's solenoid and spool position sensor for corrosion, damage, or loose pins. Repair any damaged wiring.

   Perform a valve calibration procedure

   If the wiring is intact, use the diagnostic tool to perform a valve calibration procedure.

   Replace the electric spool slice or sensor

   If the valve fails calibration or the spool position sensor value remains out of range, the electric spool slice (or its position sensor/pilot pressure control) must be replaced.

   Program the new valve and clear codes

   After replacing the valve or sensor, use the diagnostic tool to program the new valve to the tractor and clear the 0A.12.18 code.
