0A.13.1E

Massey Ferguson 0A.13.1E – Mid Mount Valve Module: External Hydraulic Valve 1 Issue

Issue description

Malfunction in the circuit or mechanical operation of the first external hydraulic remote (spool valve). This indicates an open circuit, short to ground, or short to power in the valve's solenoid circuit; an implausible value or malfunction from the spool position sensor; or a loss of CAN communication between the Dash and the Mid Mount Valve Module.

Check the cause

  1. Visual Wiring Inspection: Check the wiring harness leading to External Hydraulic Valve 1 for rub points, breaks, or frayed wires.

  2. Connector Integrity: Inspect the solenoid connector and the position sensor connector on the valve for corrosion, moisture, or loose pins.

  3. Electrical Testing: Measure the coil resistance of the valve solenoid and check for ground integrity.

  4. Sensor Verification: Use a diagnostic tool (like Wintest software) to check the live data feed of the spool position sensor to see if the voltage is out of range or missing.

Repair steps

  1. Power Down

Turn off the tractor and relieve all hydraulic pressure from the system before working on the valve block.

  2. Repair Wiring/Connections

If the diagnostic checks revealed a broken wire or corroded connector at Valve 1, repair the harness or replace the pigtail connector.

  3. Replace Solenoid/Sensor

If the wiring is intact but the spool position sensor or solenoid failed the multimeter test, remove the retaining screws on the valve cap and replace the faulty electronic component.

  4. Replace Spool Valve Assembly

If the valve is mechanically binding or the electronics cannot be serviced separately, unbolt the External Hydraulic Valve 1 section from the hydraulic stack, replace the O-rings between the slices, and install the new spool valve section.

  5. Clear Codes and Unlock Valve

Once the repair is made, you must use the control unit dashboard or a compatible diagnostic tool to clear the error code. The valve will remain electronically locked by the module until the code is cleared and the valve is manually reactivated in the system.
