0A.1X.19

Massey Ferguson 0A.1X.19 – Autotronic 5: External Hydraulic Valve 1 Issue

Issue description

Malfunction in the tractor's first external hydraulic remote valve (spool valve) circuit. This is typically caused by electrical/circuit issues (open circuit, short to ground/power), mechanical/hydraulic issues (sticking or jamming due to wear or debris), or system conditions (low pressure, leakage, or connection problems).

Check the cause

  1. Check the solenoid connector and wiring harness for rub points, open circuits, or shorts to ground.

  2. Test the solenoid coil resistance and verify ground integrity.

  3. Inspect the external hydraulic valve block for visible fluid leaks, which can reduce system efficiency and cause fluid loss.

  4. Verify that the hydraulic fluid is clean and at the proper level. Dirty or low fluid can cause premature solenoid failure and valve jamming.

  5. Check if the valve is physically stuck or binding by observing for unresponsive hydraulic controls.

Repair steps

  1. Stop the tractor, relieve all hydraulic system pressure, and disconnect the battery before starting work.

    Safety First

  2. If the valve is mechanically bound, attempt to release it by manually moving the control valve lever back and forth.

    Unstick the Valve (If Applicable)

  3. Remove the control valve/solenoid and clean out any debris that may be causing it to jam.

    Clean the Component

  4. If the solenoid coil is burnt out, the wiring is irreparably damaged, or the valve body is heavily worn, replace the solenoid valve or the entire remote valve assembly.

    Replace the Solenoid/Valve

  5. Reinstall the components, ensuring all O-rings and seals are seated properly. Top off the hydraulic fluid with clean, OEM-spec fluid.

    Reassemble and Refill

  6. Use the control unit dashboard or a compatible diagnostic tool to delete the error code and unlock the valves.
