Massey Ferguson 0A.20.12 – Dash / Mid Mount Valve Module: External Hydraulic Valve 2 Issue

A malfunction associated with the tractor's second external hydraulic remote valve. The underlying condition is typically a connection problem on the hydraulic valve itself or an issue with the spool position sensor value.

   Use a compatible Massey Ferguson diagnostic tool to confirm the 0A.20.12 code and check for any accompanying codes (such as M16 or M21)

   Check the wiring harness and electrical connectors at External Hydraulic Valve 2 for corrosion, loose pins, or physical damage

3. 3

   Verify the spool position sensor value to ensure the module is reading the physical location of the valve spool correctly

   Ensure there is proper communication between the Dash and the Valve Module

   Locate valve

   Locate External Hydraulic Valve 2 (the second slice in the rear remote valve stack).

   Clean contacts and test

   Disconnect the electrical harness to the valve and clean the contacts. Reconnect and test to see if the code clears.

   Assess for replacement

   If the wiring is intact but the sensor or internal solenoids are failing, the electric spool slice (or the pilot pressure control unit) will need to be replaced.

   Remove faulty valve

   Remove the faulty spool valve slice from the hydraulic block assembly.

   Install replacement

   Install the replacement electric spool slice and torque to OEM specifications.

   Program/calibrate

   New electric spool slices generally need to be programmed/calibrated to the tractor's ECU using a dealer diagnostic tool before they will function correctly.

   Clear DTCs and test

   Clear the DTCs from the system and test the hydraulic remote for proper operation.
