Massey Ferguson 0A.20.29 – Mid Mount Valve Module: External Hydraulic Valve 2 Issue

Check the cause
Inspect the wiring harness and connector going to External Hydraulic Valve 2 for damaged wires, corrosion, or loose pins.
Use a compatible Massey Ferguson diagnostic tool to read the live data for the External Hydraulic Valve 2 spool position sensor to verify if the sensor value changes smoothly when the valve is commanded or if it reads out of range.
Ensure there are no accompanying codes (such as M16) indicating a loss of communication between the Dash and the Mid Mount Valve Module.
Repair steps
Disconnect Power
Turn off the tractor and disconnect the battery to ensure safety while working on the electrical hydraulic components.
Clean and Reconnect
If the diagnostic check revealed a poor connection, clean the terminals on the External Hydraulic Valve 2 connector with electrical contact cleaner, apply dielectric grease, and securely reconnect it.
Replace Faulty Components
If the wiring is intact but the spool position sensor value is erratic or dead, replace the spool position sensor or the solenoid coil on Valve 2. If the valve body itself is mechanically seized or internally damaged, the entire spool valve assembly must be replaced.
Clear Codes
Reconnect the battery. Use a compatible diagnostic interface device to clear the 0A.20.29 DTC from the system memory.
Test Operation
Start the tractor and operate External Hydraulic Valve 2 to ensure the fault does not return and hydraulic flow is restored.
