Check the cause

  1. Inspect the wiring harness and electrical connectors at External Hydraulic Valve 2 for corrosion, backed-out pins, or physical damage

  2. Verify the CAN/communication wiring between the Dash display and the Mid Mount Valve Module

  3. Verify the sensor readings for Valve 2 using a compatible diagnostic tool to check for an out-of-range spool position sensor value

Repair steps

  1. Relieve hydraulic pressure

Relieve all hydraulic pressure from the system before servicing the valve block.

  2. Disconnect electrical connector

Disconnect the electrical connector to External Hydraulic Valve 2.

  3. Clean contacts and repair wiring

Clean the connector contacts and repair any damaged wiring in the harness leading to the Mid Mount Valve Module.

  4. Replace sensor or actuator

If the wiring is intact but the spool position sensor value remains out of range, replace the spool position sensor or the entire External Hydraulic Valve 2 actuator assembly.

  5. Clear DTCs and verify repair

Clear the DTCs using a compatible Massey Ferguson diagnostic interface device and cycle the hydraulics to verify the repair.

Parts you might need

(1)
  • External Hydraulic Valve 2 (or Mid Mount Valve Module / Spool Valve Actuator)

When ordering, you must specify whether the tractor is equipped with a Mid Mount Valve Module and verify the exact Tier 4 / iT4 generation of your specific series (e.g., 5600 vs 7700 series) as the valve block configurations vary by chassis size.
