   Visual Wiring Inspection: Check the wiring harness and connector leading to External Hydraulic Valve 2 (the electric spool slice) for corrosion, moisture, or damaged pins.

   Sensor Value Check: Use a compatible Massey Ferguson diagnostic tool to read the live data for the Spool Position Sensor on Valve 2. Look for erratic, frozen, or out-of-range values.

   Coil Testing: Test the resistance/continuity of the solenoid coil on the valve block to ensure it hasn't shorted or failed open.

   Communication Check: Verify that the Mid Mount Valve Module is communicating properly with the tractor's CAN bus system.

   Access the Valve Block

   Locate the rear external hydraulic valve block. Identify the "slice" corresponding to Valve 2. (Note: Always relieve hydraulic system pressure before servicing valves.)

   Address Electrical Faults

   If the diagnostic checks revealed a wiring issue, repair the harness or replace the connector. If the solenoid coil is dead, unbolt and replace the coil.

   Replace the Spool Slice (If Internal Failure)

   If the spool position sensor has failed or the valve is mechanically sticking, the entire Electric Spool Slice unit usually needs to be replaced.

   Programming / Calibration

   Crucial Step: If a new Electric Spool Slice is installed, it must be programmed and calibrated to the tractor's ECU using dealer diagnostic software so the system recognizes the new spool position sensor parameters.
