Check the cause

  1. Wiring and Connections: Check for a connection problem on a hydraulic valve. Inspect the wiring harness leading to External Hydraulic Valve 2 for chafing, corrosion, or loose pins.

  2. Spool Position Sensor: Check the spool position sensor values using a compatible diagnostic tool to see if the sensor is failing.

  3. CAN Bus Communication: Verify communication between the Dash and the Mid Mount Valve Module.

Repair steps

  1. Depressurize the System

Ensure the tractor is turned off, the implement is lowered to the ground, and hydraulic pressure is fully relieved before servicing the valve block.

  2. Inspect and Clean

Disconnect the electrical connector at External Hydraulic Valve 2. Clean the contacts with electrical contact cleaner and apply dielectric grease. Reconnect and test to see if the code clears.

  3. Sensor Replacement

If diagnostic tools show erratic spool position sensor values, remove the retaining screws on the sensor cap of Valve 2 and replace the spool position sensor.

  4. Valve Replacement

If the valve solenoid or internal spool is mechanically seized or electrically dead, unbolt the External Hydraulic Valve 2 slice from the rear remote valve stack. Ensure O-rings are properly seated when installing the new valve section. Torque the tie-rod bolts to the specifications outlined in the OEM service manual.

  5. Clear Codes

Use a compatible Massey Ferguson diagnostic interface device to clear the 0A.2X.1B code from the system and recalibrate the new valve if required.
