Check the cause

  1. Verify the hydraulic fluid (UTTO) level and condition; flush if dark, smells burnt, or is milky (indicating water contamination).

  2. Check the hydraulic filter for clogs that could restrict flow and throw valve codes.

  3. Inspect the #2 external control valve (Bosch Rexroth SB23) for external leaks, as even a slow seep can cause pressure drops and trigger spool position errors.

  4. Check the wiring harness, spool position sensor connections, and the hydraulic spool cable for fraying, corrosion, or disconnection.

  5. Perform a pressure test at the quick couplers (typically 2200–3600 psi) to rule out a failing main hydraulic pump or relief valve.

Repair steps

  1. Depressurize the System

Ensure the tractor is off, implements are lowered to the ground, and all hydraulic pressure is relieved from the system before beginning work.

  2. Isolate the Valve

Locate External Hydraulic Valve 2 at the rear remote stack.

  3. Address Leaks (Reseal)

If the valve is leaking but electronically sound, do not replace the entire expensive unit. Remove the valve and use a specialized spool valve reseal kit (e.g., K-Line AT20010) to replace the internal O-rings and seals.

  4. Address Electrical/Spool Failure

If the spool position sensor has failed or the internal solenoids are burnt out, the valve section or the dedicated solenoid must be replaced. Disconnect the hydraulic spool cable and electrical harness, unbolt the #2 valve section from the manifold block, and install the replacement Bosch Rexroth section.

  5. Reassembly & Fluid Service

Torque the valve block bolts to spec (typically around 30 Nm for these sections). Replace the main hydraulic filter and top off the UTTO hydraulic fluid.

  6. Calibration

Clear the 0A.2X.25 DTC using a compatible diagnostic tool and perform a hydraulic valve calibration/warm-up cycle to ensure the ECU recognizes the new spool position parameters.
