Massey Ferguson 0A.30.18 – Onboard diagnostic system: External Hydraulic Valve 3 Issue

   Use a compatible Massey Ferguson diagnostic tool or interface device to confirm code 0A.30.18 is active.

   Locate External Hydraulic Valve 3 in the rear remote stack. Inspect the electrical connector and wiring harness for physical damage, moisture, or corrosion.

   Check for proper signal voltage reaching the valve's solenoid. Test the wiring harness for continuity back to the control module to rule out a broken wire.

   Test the resistance of the solenoid coil on Valve 3 to determine if the electrical component of the valve has failed internally.

   Disconnect Power

   Turn off the tractor and disconnect the battery to ensure safety while working on the electrical system.

   Clean and Repair Connections

   If the diagnostic checks revealed corrosion or a loose connection at Valve 3, clean the connector pins with contact cleaner and ensure a tight fit. Repair any frayed wiring in the harness.

   Replace the Valve/Solenoid

   If the wiring is intact but the valve solenoid fails electrical testing, remove the retaining hardware for External Hydraulic Valve 3 and replace the faulty electronic spool valve section or solenoid.

   Reassemble and Clear Codes

   Reconnect the wiring harness. Reconnect the battery, turn on the tractor, and use a compatible diagnostic tool to clear the DTCs.

   Test Operation

   Actuate the third hydraulic remote to ensure the valve responds correctly and the code does not return.
