Massey Ferguson 0A.30.19: External Hydraulic Valve 3 Issue

Issue description

Indicates a fault within the third external hydraulic remote/spool valve circuit. This is typically generated when the onboard diagnostic system detects a connection problem, electrical fault, or operational failure on the hydraulic valve.

Check the cause

  1. Use a compatible diagnostic tool to confirm the presence of code 0A.30.19

  2. Inspect the electrical harness and connector leading to External Hydraulic Valve 3 (the 3rd spool valve) for corrosion, loose pins, or frayed wires

  3. Visually inspect the 3rd spool valve block for physical damage, severe leaks, or blockages

Repair steps

  1. Depressurize the System

Park the tractor on a level surface, turn off the engine, and actuate the hydraulic levers to relieve all hydraulic pressure in the system.

  2. Clean the Area

Thoroughly clean the rear hydraulic manifold and the 3rd spool valve area to prevent dirt from entering the hydraulic system.

  3. Address Electrical Faults

Disconnect the electrical connector to the 3rd valve. Clean the contacts with electrical contact cleaner. If the wiring was the only issue, reconnect, clear the code, and test.

  4. Remove the Valve (if replacement is necessary)

Disconnect the hydraulic hoses/lines attached to the 3rd spool valve.

  5. Unbolt the Valve

Remove the mounting bolts securing the 3rd spool valve to the hydraulic block/manifold and carefully remove the valve.

  6. Install the New Part

Mount the replacement 3rd spool valve (or reinstall the valve if you used an OEM repair kit to rebuild it). Secure the mounting bolts.

  7. Reconnect

Reattach all hydraulic lines and plug the electrical harness back into the valve solenoid.

  8. Fluid Check & Bleed

Check the tractor's hydraulic fluid levels and top up if necessary. Start the tractor and operate the 3rd hydraulic valve to bleed any trapped air from the system. Check for leaks.

  9. Clear the Code

Use your diagnostic interface device to clear the 0A.30.19 fault code from the system.
