0A.33.26

Massey Ferguson 0A.33.26 – Vehicle Control Module or Hydraulic/Hitch ECU: External Hydraulic Valve 3 Issue

Issue description

Fault code 0A.33.26 indicates a malfunction or a connection problem on the third external hydraulic spool valve. This can result in the failure of the auxiliary external hydraulic services to operate properly, such as failing to tip a trailer or operate an implement.

Check the cause

  1. Inspect the wiring harness and electrical connector going to External Spool Valve 3 for corrosion, loose pins, or damaged wires.

  2. Check the hydraulic oil level and quality, ensuring the hydraulic filters or suction strainers are not blocked.

  3. Inspect the valve block for external leaks, damaged O-rings, or faulty hydraulic couplers.

  4. Check if the spool is physically sticking inside the valve body, which can cause the electronic actuator to throw a fault.

  5. Test the relief pressure and flow before assuming the valve itself has failed internally.

Repair steps

  1. Relieve hydraulic pressure

Ensure the tractor is off, implements are lowered, and all hydraulic pressure is relieved from the system.

  2. Disconnect electricals

Carefully unplug the electrical connector from External Hydraulic Valve 3.

  3. Remove the faulty valve

Unbolt the faulty spool valve from the hydraulic lift cover or the rear remote valve stack. Ensure that internal standpipes or transfer points are not dislodged during removal.

  4. Inspect and rebuild or replace valve

If a repair kit is available, replace the internal O-rings, transfer seals, and gaskets. If the valve has an internal electronic/actuator failure (common on Bosch Rexroth SB23 valves), specialized rebuilding or complete replacement is required.

  5. Install new or repaired valve

Mount the new or repaired valve back onto the base plate/lift cover. Torque the mounting bolts to the manufacturer's specifications.

  6. Reconnect and test

Reconnect the electrical harness. Top off any lost hydraulic fluid, run the tractor to bleed the system, and use a compatible diagnostic tool to clear the 0A.33.26 DTC.
