   Inspect the electrical connector on External Hydraulic Valve 3 for dirt, corrosion, or bent pins

   Trace the wiring from Valve 3 back to the control module, checking for chafing, pinched wires, or short circuits

   Test the resistance of the Valve 3 solenoid with a multimeter to ensure it is within OEM specifications (not open or shorted)

   Check the valve spool mechanically to ensure it is not binding or stuck due to debris in the hydraulic fluid

   Verify that the hydraulic fluid level is correct and the hydraulic filters are clean

   Depressurize the System

   Turn off the tractor, lower all implements to the ground, and cycle the hydraulic controls to relieve any residual hydraulic pressure.

   Disconnect Power

   Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shorts during repair.

   Clean the Area

   Thoroughly clean the rear hydraulic valve block around Valve 3 to prevent dirt from entering the hydraulic system.

   Disconnect Wiring

   Unplug the electrical connector from the Valve 3 solenoid. If the connector is damaged, splice in a new pigtail connector.

   Remove the Valve/Solenoid

   Unbolt the faulty solenoid or the entire Valve 3 slice from the hydraulic stack (depending on whether the solenoid is available separately for your specific model).

   Install the New Part

   Fit the new O-rings/seals, bolt the new valve/solenoid into place, and torque to OEM specifications.

   Reconnect and Calibrate

   Reconnect the wiring harness and battery. Use a compatible Massey Ferguson diagnostic tool to clear the 0A.3X.1A code and, if necessary, run the electrohydraulic valve calibration routine.
