Check the cause
Check the LED indicators on the electronic valve (solid red indicates power, green indicates input to move, flashing confirms a fault with the specific valve)
Inspect the spool position displacement sensor to verify if it is reading correctly or has failed
Check hydraulic oil for contamination and ensure the 25-micron filter is not blocked, as contaminated oil can cause the pilot valve to stick
Inspect the electrohydraulic spool valve control harness and connectors for damage, corrosion, or loose connections
Read specific DC/TC error codes via Wintest software, Datatronic display, or the dash to confirm the exact nature of the fault
Repair steps
Relieve Hydraulic Pressure
Ensure the tractor is off and relieve any residual pressure in the hydraulic system before working on the valves.
Access the Valve Block
Locate the external hydraulic valve block (usually at the rear of the tractor above the gearbox/rear axle).
Inspect/Clean the Pilot Valve
The pilot valve and digital device are housed in a unit fixed below the spool valve. Remove and inspect the pilot valve for oil contamination or debris.
Replace Detents (if applicable)
On some models (like the 7600 series), the spool valve detents can wear out. These can be modified and replaced individually rather than replacing the entire valve.
Replace the Spool Valve Assembly
If the digital device, displacement sensor, or internal spool is irreparably damaged, the entire electrohydraulic spool valve section for Valve 3 must be replaced. Disconnect the electrical harness, unbolt the valve section from the stack, and install the new valve.
Calibrate/Program
After replacing the valve, use the Wintest software or Datatronic system to configure and program the new electrohydraulic spool valve parameters.
