   Visually inspect the wiring harness and the electrical connector at the 4th external hydraulic valve for corrosion, bent pins, or wire chafing.

   Test the solenoid coil and the potentiometer on the spool valve block for proper resistance and voltage.

   Use a compatible Massey Ferguson diagnostic tool to clear the code, then operate the tractor and actuate the 4th hydraulic remote to see if the code returns (verifying if it is an active hard fault or a stored intermittent issue).

   Depressurize and Disconnect

   Turn off the tractor, relieve all hydraulic pressure by cycling the hydraulic levers, and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts.

   Locate the Valve

   Locate the external hydraulic valve block (this may be the rear remote stack or the front axle valve block, depending on how the 4th valve is assigned on your specific model).

   Clean/Repair Wiring

   Disconnect the electrical plug to Valve 4. Clean the contacts with electrical contact cleaner. If the wiring harness is damaged, splice and repair the wires or replace the pigtail connector.

   Replace Faulty Components

   If the wiring is intact but the valve fails to actuate or throws the code, replace the specific solenoid coil on the valve. If the internal spool is mechanically seized or the block is internally damaged, the spool valve section must be replaced.

   Reassemble and Calibrate

   Reconnect the hydraulic lines and electrical connectors. Reconnect the battery. Use the diagnostic tool to clear the DTCs and perform any necessary valve calibration procedures required by the tractor's ECU.
