Check the cause
Verify the hydraulic fluid (UTTO fluid, e.g., 10W40) is at the correct level and free of contaminants like metal shavings or dust. Ensure the hydraulic filters have been changed within their 300-500 hour service interval.
Inspect the external hydraulic valve 4, hoses, couplers, and cylinders for any visible external leaks or physical damage.
Inspect the wiring harness and electrical connector at Valve 4 for corrosion, loose pins, or wire damage.
Perform an internal leakage test: if the linkage drops overnight or loses pressure, it points to internal pressure escaping past worn seals, O-rings, or a faulty check valve inside the spool valve assembly.
Repair steps
Relieve Pressure
Ensure the tractor is turned off, implements are lowered to the ground, and all hydraulic pressure is relieved from the system before servicing.
Access the Valve Block
Locate the rear external hydraulic valve block and specifically identify Valve 4. Clean the surrounding area to prevent dirt from entering the hydraulic system.
Disconnect
Unplug the electrical connector (pilot pressure control/solenoid) from the valve slice. Disconnect the hydraulic lines attached to Valve 4, capping them to prevent fluid loss.
Remove and Repair/Replace
Unbolt the Valve 4 slice from the main hydraulic block. Depending on the diagnosis, either rebuild the valve using an OEM seal/repair kit to replace worn O-rings and seals, or replace the entire electric spool slice.
Reassembly
Install the new or rebuilt valve slice. Reconnect the hydraulic lines and the electrical harness.
Programming
If a completely new electric spool slice is installed, note that it may need to be programmed to the tractor's ECU using a compatible diagnostic tool.
Test
Top up the UTTO hydraulic fluid, start the tractor, and test Valve 4 under load to ensure there are no leaks and that the fault code can be cleared.
