Massey Ferguson 0A.41.1F – Hydraulic control module or TECU: External Hydraulic Valve 4 Issue

Connection problem or electrical circuit fault on the number 4 external hydraulic spool valve. The control unit has detected a signal out of range, an open circuit, or a short to ground in the valve's solenoid circuit.

   Inspect the solenoid connector for External Valve 4 for dirt, corrosion, or loose pins.

   Check the wiring harness for rub points that could cause an open circuit or a short to ground.

   Measure the solenoid coil resistance using a multimeter to verify it is within specification.

   Verify the ground integrity of the hydraulic valve circuit.

   Ensure the tractor is turned off, hydraulic pressure is relieved, and the work area is clean.

   Disassemble and disconnect the electrical connector from the External Hydraulic Valve 4 solenoid.

   Remove the retaining nut or cap screw holding the solenoid to the cartridge valve, and slide the faulty solenoid off.

   If the cartridge valve itself is leaking or mechanically stuck, unscrew the cartridge valve from the hydraulic manifold block.

   Apply a small amount of clean hydraulic oil to the seals/O-rings of the new cartridge valve.

   Screw the new cartridge valve into the manifold block and tighten it securely.

   Slide the new solenoid over the cartridge valve and secure it with the retaining nut.

   Reconnect the electrical connector to the solenoid.

   Use a compatible Massey Ferguson diagnostic tool to clear the 0A.41.1F fault code and test the hydraulic function.
