Massey Ferguson 0A.41.25: External Hydraulic Valve 4 Issue

Malfunction in the circuit or mechanical operation of the 4th external hydraulic remote valve (spool valve) at the rear of the tractor. The root cause is often electrical, such as a failed solenoid or a wiring harness issue.

   Locate External Hydraulic Valve 4 on the rear remote stack and visually inspect the wiring harness leading to the valve's electronic solenoid for chafing, breaks, or pinched wires.

   Disconnect the electrical plug at the valve and check for water ingress, bent pins, or corrosion.

   Use a multimeter to test the resistance (continuity) of the solenoid on Valve 4. Compare the reading to a known good valve on the same tractor (e.g., Valve 1, 2, or 3) to identify an open circuit or short.

   Relieve Pressure

   Ensure the tractor is turned off and relieve all hydraulic pressure from the rear remotes before servicing.

   Repair Wiring (If Applicable)

   If the diagnostic checks reveal a broken wire or corroded connector, repair the harness or replace the pigtail connector.

   Replace Solenoid/Valve

   If the solenoid fails the continuity test, remove the retaining nut/screws holding the solenoid to the spool valve block. Replace the solenoid. (Note: On some electronic spool valves, the solenoid and valve slice are serviced as a single assembly).

   Clear Codes

   Reconnect the wiring harness. Use a compatible Massey Ferguson diagnostic tool to clear the 0A.41.25 code from the system.

   Function Test

   Start the tractor and cycle External Hydraulic Valve 4 to ensure proper operation and verify the code does not return.
