Massey Ferguson 0A.41.28 – Hydraulic Valve Module: External Hydraulic Valve 4 Issue

   Inspect the electrical connector directly on External Hydraulic Valve 4 for corrosion, moisture, or backed-out pins

   Test the wiring harness between the hydraulic valve module and the dash/armrest for open circuits or short circuits to earth

   Test the solenoid on Valve 4 for proper resistance to check for high amp draw, low amp draw, or open circuits

   Verify the spool position sensor value using a compatible diagnostic tool to ensure the valve is physically returning to neutral

   Locate valve

   Locate External Hydraulic Valve 4 on the rear hydraulic valve stack.

   Disconnect battery

   Disconnect the battery isolator before servicing the electrical connections.

   Clean and reseat connector

   Clean and reseat the electrical connector to the valve's solenoid and position sensor.

   Replace solenoid

   If the wiring is intact but the solenoid fails resistance testing, replace the solenoid.

   Repair or replace valve assembly

   If the valve spool is physically sticking or the detents have failed, the valve assembly will need to be repaired or replaced. Note: For some models (like the 7600 series), Massey Ferguson often recommends replacing the complete valve assembly, but it is sometimes possible to source and replace just the spool valve detents to save costs.

   Clear DTCs

   After replacing the faulty component, use a compatible Massey Ferguson diagnostic tool to clear the DTCs from the system.
