Check the cause
Inspect the wiring harness leading to External Hydraulic Valve 4 for connection problems
Examine the 4-pin electrical connector on the spool valve for corrosion, dirt, or bent pins
Look for chafing or breaks in the wiring harness that could cause a short or open circuit
Use a compatible diagnostic tool to clear the DTCs and operate the tractor to see if the code returns immediately (indicating a hard electrical fault) or intermittently
Repair steps
Relieve hydraulic pressure
Ensure the tractor is turned off, the key is removed, and all hydraulic pressure is fully relieved from the system by cycling the remote levers/buttons.
Locate valve
Locate External Hydraulic Valve 4 at the rear remote valve stack.
Disconnect connector
Disconnect the 4-pin electrical connector from the valve.
Clean connector or repair harness
Clean the connector pins with electrical contact cleaner. If the wiring is damaged, repair the harness. If the valve itself is the culprit, proceed to the next step.
Unbolt hydraulic lines
Unbolt the hydraulic lines connected to Valve 4. Have a catch pan ready for residual hydraulic fluid.
Remove mounting bolts
Remove the mounting bolts securing the spool valve to the valve block/stack.
Install replacement valve
Install the replacement spool valve, ensuring that new O-rings/seals are used between the valve slices to prevent leaks.
Reattach lines and connector
Reattach the hydraulic lines and plug in the 4-pin electrical connector.
Test and clear code
Top off the hydraulic fluid if necessary, start the tractor, and test the remote valve operation. Clear the fault code with a diagnostic tool.
