Check the cause

  1. Inspect the electrical harness and connector plugging into External Hydraulic Valve 4 for corrosion, bent pins, or moisture

  2. Trace the wiring back to the Mid Mount Valve Module / ECU to check for chafing, shorts to ground, or open circuits

  3. Test the resistance (ohms) of the valve's solenoid to ensure it is within OEM specifications

  4. Use a compatible diagnostic tool to clear the code and cycle the hydraulic controls to see if the code returns as an active fault

Repair steps

  1. Relieve Pressure

Turn off the tractor and cycle the hydraulic levers/joysticks to relieve all trapped hydraulic pressure in the system.

  2. Clean the Area

Thoroughly clean the area around the external hydraulic valve block to prevent dirt from entering the hydraulic system.

  3. Disconnect Electrical

Unplug the wiring harness connector from Valve 4.

  4. Remove Lines

Mark and disconnect the hydraulic lines attached to the valve. Cap the lines immediately to prevent fluid loss and contamination.

  5. Unbolt Valve

Remove the mounting bolts securing Valve 4 to the hydraulic block or lift cover.

  6. Install New Valve

Mount the replacement valve, ensuring all O-rings and seals are properly seated. Torque bolts to OEM specifications.

  7. Reconnect

Reattach the hydraulic lines and plug in the electrical connector.

  8. Bleed and Test

Top off hydraulic fluid if necessary, start the tractor, check for leaks, and test the operation of the 4th remote to ensure the code is resolved.
