0A.43.1E

Massey Ferguson 0A.43.1E – Implement/Hydraulic Control Module or Main Vehicle ECU: External Hydraulic Valve 4 Issue

Issue description

Indicates a fault, malfunction, or connection problem within the fourth external hydraulic remote/spool valve circuit, often an electrical or solenoid-related failure on the valve itself.

Check the cause

  1. Inspect the wiring harness and the 4-pin connector at External Hydraulic Valve 4 for corrosion, loose pins, or frayed wires.

  2. Verify the hydraulic fluid (UTTO, e.g., 10W40) is at the correct level and free of contaminants like metal shavings or dust.

  3. Check if the valve is physically stuck (sometimes a stuck control valve can be temporarily released by manually moving the pump control valve lever back and forth).

  4. Inspect the valve body, couplers, and O-rings for visible hydraulic fluid leaks.

Repair steps

  1. Relieve Pressure

Turn off the tractor and cycle the hydraulic controls to relieve all pressure from the hydraulic system before beginning work.

  2. Disconnect Electricals

Unplug the 4-pin electrical connector from the faulty External Hydraulic Valve 4.

  3. Clean the Area

Thoroughly clean the area around the spool valve to prevent dirt or debris from entering the hydraulic system when the lines are removed.

  4. Remove Hydraulic Lines

Disconnect the hydraulic hoses/lines attached to the valve. Cap the lines immediately to prevent fluid loss and contamination.

  5. Remove the Valve

Unbolt the faulty spool valve from the hydraulic valve stack/manifold.

  6. Install the New Valve

Mount the replacement spool valve and tighten the mounting bolts.

  7. Reconnect

Reattach the hydraulic lines and plug in the electrical connector.

  8. Fluid and Testing

Top up the hydraulic fluid (UTTO) if any was lost. Start the tractor, allow the system to warm up, and test Valve 4 for proper operation and leak-free performance.
