0A.43.24

Massey Ferguson 0A.43.24 – Main vehicle/chassis ECU: External Hydraulic Valve 4 Issue

Issue description

Malfunction, communication failure, or connection problem with the 4th rear remote hydraulic spool valve (auxiliary valve). The tractor's diagnostic system has detected that the electronic control or physical actuation of this specific valve is operating outside of expected parameters.

Check the cause

  1. Locate the #4 external hydraulic valve at the rear remote stack and inspect the wiring harness and connector for dirt, corrosion, or physical damage.

  2. Test the solenoid coil on Valve 4 for proper resistance and verify that it is receiving voltage from the ECU when actuated from the cab.

  3. Ensure the spool is not mechanically stuck due to debris or contaminated hydraulic fluid.

Repair steps

  1. Depressurize the System

Turn off the tractor, lower all implements, and cycle the hydraulic levers/switches to relieve residual hydraulic pressure.

  2. Disconnect Power

Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shorts and ECU damage.

  3. Access the Valve Stack

Locate the rear hydraulic valve block. Identify the 4th slice (Valve 4).

  4. Disconnect Wiring

Carefully unplug the electrical connector from the Valve 4 solenoid/actuator.

  5. Remove the Valve

Unbolt the specific spool slice from the valve stack. Be prepared to catch residual hydraulic fluid.

  6. Install Replacement/Repair

Install the new electric spool slice or rebuild the existing one using an OEM repair kit. Ensure all O-rings and seals are properly seated.

  7. Reassemble and Reconnect

Bolt the valve stack back together to the specified torque. Reconnect the electrical harness.

  8. Programming (If Applicable)

If replacing the entire electric spool slice (e.g., part 3797234M6), the new unit must be programmed/calibrated to the tractor's ECU using a compatible Massey Ferguson diagnostic tool.

  9. Test

Reconnect the battery, start the tractor, check for leaks, and clear the DTCs. Test the #4 remote for proper operation.
