Massey Ferguson 0A.43.26 – Transmission/Hydraulic ECU: External Hydraulic Valve 4 Issue

Malfunction in the 4th rear remote hydraulic spool valve, typically caused by an electrical fault such as a connection problem, a voltage irregularity, or an internal failure of the electric spool slice.

   Inspect the wiring harness leading to the 4th spool valve at the rear of the tractor for chafed wires, loose pins, or corrosion inside the connector

   Verify the pilot pressure control solenoid for the electric spool valve is receiving proper voltage

   Use a compatible Massey Ferguson diagnostic tool to clear the DTC, then operate the 4th remote valve to see if the code returns immediately to confirm a hard fault

   Relieve Pressure

   Safely park the tractor, lower all implements, turn off the engine, and cycle the hydraulic controls to relieve all residual hydraulic pressure in the system.

   Clean the Area

   Thoroughly clean the external hydraulic valve block at the rear of the tractor to prevent dirt from contaminating the hydraulic system during disassembly.

   Disconnect Wiring

   Unplug the electrical connector from the 4th electric spool slice.

   Remove the Valve Slice

   Unbolt the tie rods/bolts that hold the modular spool valve stack together. Carefully separate the stack and remove the faulty 4th electric spool slice.

   Install New Parts

   Install the replacement electric spool slice (or rebuild the existing one using an OEM repair kit). Ensure all O-rings and seals between the valve slices are replaced and properly seated.

   Reassemble

   Slide the stack back together and torque the tie bolts to the manufacturer's specifications. Reconnect the electrical harness.

   Programming

   A new electric spool slice must be programmed/calibrated to the tractor's ECU using a dealer diagnostic tool before it will function correctly.

   Test

   Start the tractor, check the valve block for hydraulic leaks, and test the operation of the 4th remote valve.
