Check the cause

  1. Inspect the wiring harness leading to External Hydraulic Valve 4 for chafing, breaks, or corrosion.

  2. Ensure the electrical connector at the valve solenoid is securely seated and that no pins are bent or pushed back.

  3. Check the hydraulic fluid levels and inspect the valve block for any physical leaks or damage that might cause a pressure drop or mechanical binding.

  4. Use a compatible diagnostic tool to clear the code and cycle the tractor's hydraulics to see if the code returns, which helps rule out an intermittent electrical glitch.

Repair steps

  1. Depressurize the System

Turn off the tractor and actuate the hydraulic levers/controls to relieve all hydraulic pressure from the system before beginning work.

  2. Disconnect Electricals

Locate External Hydraulic Valve 4 on the rear remote valve stack. Disconnect the electrical harness from the valve's solenoid.

  3. Remove the Valve

Unbolt the hydraulic lines connected to the specific spool valve. Remove the mounting bolts securing Valve 4 to the hydraulic manifold or adjacent valve sections.

  4. Replace or Rebuild

If the valve is mechanically failed or the solenoid is burnt out, replace the spool valve assembly. If using a repair kit, replace the internal O-rings and seals.

  5. Reinstallation

Install the new or rebuilt valve using new O-rings between the valve sections to prevent leaks. Torque the mounting bolts to OEM specifications.

  6. Reconnect and Test

Reconnect the hydraulic lines and the electrical harness. Top off the hydraulic fluid, start the tractor, and test the remote valve operation to ensure the fault code 0A.43.29 is resolved.
