Massey Ferguson 0A.4X.21 – Main hydraulic/implement control module: External Hydraulic Valve 4 Issue

Malfunction, communication failure, or electrical connection problem with the 4th electro-hydraulic remote (EHR) spool valve located at the rear of the tractor.

   Inspect the wiring harness and the electrical connector plugging into the #4 remote valve for corrosion, moisture ingress, or bent pins.

   Perform a cross-connection test: swap the electrical connector of Valve 4 with an adjacent working valve (e.g., Valve 3). If the fault code changes to indicate an issue with Valve 3, the physical valve/processor is dead. If the code remains as a Valve 4 issue, the tractor's wiring harness or main controller is at fault.

   Ensure the tractor's UTTO (Universal Tractor Transmission Oil) hydraulic fluid is at the correct level and that hydraulic filters are not restricted.

   Depressurize

   Lower all implements to the ground, turn off the tractor, and relieve all hydraulic system pressure.

   Clean the Area

   Thoroughly clean the rear remote valve stack to prevent dirt from entering the hydraulic system during disassembly.

   Disconnect

   Unplug the electrical harness from the faulty #4 EHR valve.

   Remove the Valve

   Unbolt the tie-rods or mounting bolts that hold the remote valve stack together. Carefully separate the slices and remove the #4 valve section.

   Install the New Valve

   Insert the replacement EHR valve slice. Ensure all O-rings between the valve slices are brand new, properly seated, and lubricated with clean hydraulic fluid.

   Reassemble

   Re-torque the valve stack bolts to factory specifications and reconnect the electrical harness.

   Reprogram the Valve

   Replacement valve assemblies are supplied "blank" with no number assigned to their internal processor. You must use a compatible diagnostic tool (such as the AGCO Electronic Diagnostic Tool) to program the new valve's processor so it identifies itself to the tractor's network as Valve #4.

8. 8

   Test

   Top off the hydraulic fluid, start the tractor, clear the DTCs, and test the remote for proper operation and leaks.
