   Locate External Hydraulic Valve 4 at the rear remote valve stack and check for obvious physical damage or severe hydraulic fluid leaks.

   Disconnect the electrical harness going to Valve 4 and inspect the pins for corrosion, bent terminals, or moisture ingress.

   Test the resistance (ohms) of the solenoid on Valve 4 and compare it to the known good solenoids on Valves 1, 2, or 3.

   Swap the electrical connector from Valve 3 to Valve 4 (if the harness allows) to see if the fault code follows the wiring or stays with the valve.

   Relieve Pressure

   Turn off the tractor and cycle the hydraulic remote levers/buttons to relieve any residual hydraulic pressure in the system.

   Clean the Area

   Thoroughly clean the rear remote valve stack to prevent dirt from entering the hydraulic system during disassembly.

   Address Wiring (If Applicable)

   If the diagnostic checks revealed a corroded connector, clean the contacts with electronic contact cleaner, apply dielectric grease, and reconnect. Clear the code and test.

   Replace the Valve/Solenoid

   If the valve itself has failed internally or the solenoid is dead: Disconnect the electrical harness to Valve 4. Remove the hydraulic lines/couplers attached to the specific valve slice. Unbolt the tie-rods or mounting bolts holding the valve stack together. Carefully slide out the faulty Valve 4 slice, ensuring you do not lose or damage the O-rings between the valve slices. Install the new valve slice with new O-rings. Torque the stack bolts to the manufacturer's specification.

   Reassembly & Calibration

   Reconnect the hydraulic lines and electrical harness. Top off the hydraulic fluid if any was lost. Use a compatible Massey Ferguson diagnostic tool to clear the 0A.4X.24 code and recalibrate the hydraulic valves if required by the specific tractor series.
